Partner in Exercise

I have always done my exercising alone.

My stretching and floor exercises, that is.

My husband usually accompanies me on the walks that we like to take.

This day two of the New Year has had me doing those floor exercises, and my husband has joined me with his own version.

I am hoping it is something we can keep up with.

As with many things, having a partner helps keep the motivation going.

Here's to another year - hopefully the good intentions last longer than they usually do at the beginning of each year!

Vacation?

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Kissimmee Tourism. All opinions are 100% mine.

Vacation?

Not too sure about one of those in the near future, but it is always fun to look on the internet at different places and far away lands.

And sometimes they don't have to be too far away.

We are in New England and for the most part take day trips which aren't too expensive for us.

We tend to stay away from the busy tourist places - we would rather explore nature areas on our own at our own pace.

A hike to us is way more interesting than shopping or theme parks.

We have some friends who have retired in Florida, and they are always after us to come and visit.

No hotel expenses, they tell us, and Disney Land and Seaworld are practically next door.

They live in the Kissimmee area which is right close to all these places.

We told them we would rather spend time with them hiking or taking a ride on one of those airboats through the swamp.

They were kind of disappointed that the theme parks didn't interest us as much as the swamp did.

Then we asked about the fishing in the area.

That was a hit - they said they have the best Bass fishing lakes in the whole of the south.

So, if we ever get down to Florida to visit them, fishing and an airboat ride in the swamp are on the list.

And of course, a visit to their beloved theme parks will be scheduled in too.

It would certainly be something different for us - and I am sure they would make it most enjoyable.

Sounds like there is something for everyone in the area down there - check it out and see for yourself!

The Big Move

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of 1-800-Flowers. All opinions are 100% mine.

This weekend is the big move.

My daughter has been searching for the last couple of months for the perfect apartment.

One that was just right for the baby with enough room for her to bring her own washer and dryer.

The trips to the laundromat were beginning to wear thin for her.

She is so excited.

It is a bit further away from town than she wanted, but the deal was just too good to refuse.

And these days we all have to watch our spending just a bit more.

She is going to spend the weekend getting all moved in and putting everything away as the boxes come through the front door.

A big job to be sure, but she wants it all done so when we come up next week, everything is pretty much put away.

All of this in one weekend, but it should be a bit easier with us watching the baby while they are getting it done.

She loves the big windows and openness of her new living room, and I just know she is thinking of how much her plants are going to love it there too.

Before we go over I am thinking of having a new plant delivered to her that will arrive before we do.

I can't decide whether to send her a cactus or a bonsai - either one she will love, and the cat won't.

This would be a great surprise for her - one she could certainly use after the very busy weekend she will be putting in.

Besides, who doesn't love to see that flower delivery person at the door with a special gift - send some to your someone special too!

New Challenges

The BeeWell for Life website that I log my walking miles on each day has added another way to earn donations to the Breast Cancer Network of Strength program.

They have added a daily challenge that the members can complete.

It is usually a small thing - like so many jumping jacks or a certain kind of snack.

Sometimes it is interaction in the forums on the site or using other tools found on the site too.

They donate .10 cents for each completed challenge.

Just on the challenges alone, they have raised over $105 since June 1st.

For all the miles the members have walked so far this year they will donate $34,244 to the cause.

And we still have the rest of the year to earn more.

Check it out - it's free to join and the walking is oh so good - for you and for someone who needs the help!

Health Quote by Og Mandingo

two crystal ice hearts

Treasure the love you receive above all. It will survive long after your gold and good health have vanished.

- by Og Mandingo

I came across this quote and thought it was a good one to share.

Putting too much into concentrating on doing everything right in the health department is not the thing I want to be remembered for after I am gone.

The love will be the thing that lives on - and it makes it all worth while!

Best Blog Award

Best_Blog_award

I have just been honored with this blog's first award.

Barbara, over at Goal for the Green, bestowed it on myself, and 14 other very worthy blogs.

I visit her blog regularly and enjoy reading her environment and earth-friendly posts.

This award was designed by Will Oaks Studio which is another blogger friend of mine.

To be in such good company gives one a great feeling - and just think, all these good feelings are spread by a kind deed.

And that didn't cost a cent!

A big thank you to Barbara - you made my day!
